Exelon announced May 4, 2022 that RockCreek, one of the world’s largest diverse-owned global investment firms, has opened applications for the $36 million Exelon-funded Racial Equity Capital Fund to support minority-owned businesses in Exelon’s service areas in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Illinois, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was established to help speed up COVID-19 recovery efforts. Kankakee County received $21.3 million in ARPA funds. The Kankakee County Board introduced the Respond, Revitalize, and Reinvest initiative is help distribute this funding within the community. Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to apply.
