Illinois #2 Among All States for Corporate Expansion, Relocation Projects
4 YEARS RUNNING: Illinois is #2 among all states for corporate expansion and relocation projects, as ranked by Site Selection Magazine. With 680 projects tallied by the magazine, this ranking is a testament to Illinois’ global competitiveness in business attraction, strong workforce, and highly-connected, efficient infrastructure.
Additionally, the magazine found that Illinois is the #2 state for the third consecutive year for projects per capita.
Companies from a range of emerging, high-growth industries chose to be in Illinois in 2025, including: Cleanenergy pioneers, like Pure Lithium Corporation, Damera Corporation, and Rivian, and Agribusiness leaders like Silesia Flavors, Inc. and Cronus Chemicals.
Several companies at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park, a first-of-its-kind campus for quantum development, broke ground this fall. With PsiQuantum an as anchor tenant, the IQMP attracted Infleqtion, Pasqal, Diraq, and Silicon Catalyst in 2025.
