Flying Squirrel Aerofilm Takes Off with EnterpriseU 2015



Final oral presentations for the EnterpriseU 2015 Entrepreneurs Boot Camp & Business Plan Competition were held on June 11, 2015. Seven finalists presented, with the following results:
 
 
 
First Place – Jim Dewey, Flying Squirrel Aerofilm & Photography – a provider of drone UAV aerial photography services
Second Place – Nicole Weakley, Spice Done Right – a custom blended spice retailer
Third Place – Christian Finefield & Nathan Benz, Chrios LLC – a developer of mobile applications for Android, iOS and the web
 
 
Winners will receive startup capital, rent-free office space, and a suite of professional goods and services. All 19 2015 contestants participated in the 8-course Entrepreneurs Boot Camp at the Kankakee Community College Small Business Development Center and received one-on-one business plan couseling as part of their entry fees.
 
It was also announced at the event that the EnterpriseU program, administered by the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County and the KCC SBDC, received a 2015 Illinois Entrepreneurship & Small Business Growth Association Roger Luman Program Excellence Award.
