Timothy Nugent
Tim Nugent has more than 25 years of experience in business, real estate and community development. He is a life-long resident of Manteno, Illinois – where he has served as mayor for 17 years, a role he retains as the Alliance President/CEO.
Mr. Nugent has been instrumental in attracting and growing Kankakee County through the development of workforce and building incentives, community collaboration, and partnerships with federal, state and local partners. He currently serves on various boards including the local Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Kankakee County Enterprise Zone, Kankakee County Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board, among others.
Tim is the former owner of Manteno Lumber & True Value Inc. and has led numerous residential real estate development projects. Mayor Nugent also served as a police officer in Kankakee County for 20 years, 12 years as a Deputy Sheriff and 8 years as the Chief of Police for the City of Kankakee.
Mr. Nugent holds a Bachelor Degree from Governors State. He is married to his wife Yvette and has 2 grown children, Casey Meier, a Manteno High School Art teacher and Mitchell, a Special Education teacher at Naperville North High School.

Angela Morrey
Angela Morrey, a native of Kankakee County, brings a wealth of experience in media communications, business management, operations and leadership.
She began her career in broadcast journalism with NBC and WB affiliates in Wisconsin, covering a wide range of topics, from local farmers markets to unsolved murders. Following the closure of the newscast at her Milwaukee station, Angela transitioned to become General Manager of a hotel and convention center, overseeing a major renovation in her tenure.
A subsequent family relocation led Angela to operate an in-home childcare business and take on roles as quality control specialist, online journalist and columnist.
Now residing in Bourbonnais with her three children, Angela holds a Bachelors Degree from Northern Illinois University. She is actively involved in her community, volunteering at her children’s schools, church and various local organizations.
