KCC/KCCC Launch Leadership & Management Institute
In collaboration with the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, Kankakee Community College is launching an exciting new Leadership and Management Institute to enhance skills for new and seasoned professionals.
A free information session will be from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 at KCC’s North Extension Center, 450 N. Kinzie Ave. in Bradley.
A series of 10 courses will meet every month except June and July during 2016. Sessions will meet at KCC’s North Extension Center in Room N101 from 8 a.m. – noon.
“The courses will challenge the learners to spark action in others for business results,” said Mary Posing, KCC’s assistant dean of continuing education and career services. Participants can earn a basic or advanced certificate depending on the number and level of courses taken.
“This is really a unique opportunity for the professionals in our community,” she added.
The series includes topics like goal setting, communication, delegating, coaching, innovation, driving change and more. Courses will be taught by KCC Professor Dr. Kristine Condon, who has more than 15 years of experience delivering corporate training in the area.
“We developed this program after receiving employer input from surveys and focus groups,” Posing said. “Leadership was a consistent theme among the responses. We already have commitments from three employers for the program, and we’re reaching out even further with the help of our Chamber partners.”
Cost is $147 per course, five basic certificate courses is $660, and the entire 10 course series is $1,245.
