Preparing for Employment

In an effort to assist displaced workers in our community, KCC Workforce Services is helping prepare residents for upcoming job fairs. A total of 5 workshops are planned between July 8th and Aug 4th, with two at the Momence Public Library and the other three at the KCC North Extension Center in Bradley.  

There will be new life in the former Cigna building at St. George Road and Route 45 in Bourbonnais. The building was recently donated to Riverside Health Care.

Riverside Healthcare is proud to announce that it has been awarded a 2025 Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). This is the fourth consecutive year that Riverside has received this recognition. The Bell Seal is the nation’s preeminent certification, recognizing employers committed to creating mentally healthy workplaces.

Kankakee Community College is one of 21 small community colleges across the nation with a gold ranking in the 2025 Guide to Military Friendly Schools, published in conjunction with “G.I. Jobs” magazine. KCC has had 27 veterans enroll during the 2024-25 school year, according to the college’s Office of Financial Aid. Among these veterans, 18 are utilizing Veteran’s Administration Education benefits.
