Kankakee County is full of incredible businesses, talented makers, and unique experiences that deserve to be recognized, and there’s an exciting opportunity to put them in the statewide spotlight.
The Illinois Office of Tourism is now accepting applications for the 2027 Illinois Made program, which celebrates the businesses, artisans, entrepreneurs, and experiences that make Illinois communities special.
And this year, the program has expanded its eligibility criteria! Illinois Made is no longer limited to traditional artisans or businesses that create physical products. The program now recognizes a wider range of businesses offering memorable experiences that give visitors a reason to explore.
Who might be a great fit?
- Restaurants known for a signature dish or unique dining experience
- Artists, craftspeople, and specialty retailers
- Farmers, producers, and local entrepreneurs
- Businesses offering tours, tastings, workshops, or hands-on experiences
- Businesses with a compelling story, unique product, or memorable experience rooted in Illinois
Selected Illinois Makers receive statewide recognition, are featured on EnjoyIllinois.com, and may be included in additional tourism marketing campaigns, media outreach, and promotional opportunities.
Applications are open now through December 31, 2026, with the next class of Illinois Makers expected to be announced in March 2027.
