Becker’s Hospital Review, one of the nation’s leaders in news coverage of the healthcare industry, has recognized Riverside Healthcare President and CEO Phil Kambic as one of “240 Community Hospital Presidents and CEOs to Know” for 2026.
“Riverside’s mission has always been to ensure our community has access to compassionate, high-quality care close to home,” said Kambic. “For more than 60 years, we’ve been proud to serve the people of this region, and it’s an honor to receive this recognition from Becker’s. We remain committed to expanding access and investing in the services our communities need for generations to come.”
Kambic joined Riverside Healthcare in 1985 and served as senior vice president and COO before being appointed president and CEO in 2006. He previously chaired the Illinois Health and Hospital Association (IHA) board of directors, and continues to serve as a board member. He has emphasized Riverside Healthcare’s efforts to ensure community access to extraordinary care, close to home.
In releasing the list, Becker’s noted, “The best community hospitals are deliberately built and improved upon by leaders who understand that the health of an institution and the health of its community are inseparable.
As part of Riverside’s commitment to its community, the healthcare system gave $66.4 million in total community benefit in 2025.
“Behind every number is a person whose life was impacted, a family that found support close to home, and a dedicated team working to improve the health of our communities,” said Kambic.
Kambic is currently on the board of the Economic Alliance and formerly served as Vice Chairman and Board Chairman of the Alliance.
